Most of the pictures we see are clichés, we have seen them before whether it's a man walking in a street or a young couple riding in a cabrio on a sunny day, we have seen it before.
Music and sound are the only tools that can give meaning to these clichés / pictures. If uplifting flute music is accompanying the couple in the cabrio, they are happy and in love, with dark orchestral music they have relationship problems and with a gloomy retro pop score their might be a dead body in the trunk of their car.
On Tuesday, the 20th of November 2012 the film 'Die Welt' by Alex Pitstra premiered at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar.
“Die Welt is a moral drama about a society in the vacuum between dictatorship and democracy. We follow the young DVD salesman Abdallah, who becomes increasingly frustrated by his inability to realize a fulfilling existence for himself. This feature debut shows contemporary Tunisia with fresh cinematic audacity.” (www.dieweltfilm.com).
